Stugeron 15mg Tablets 15

Description

Stugeron contain cinnarizine an antihistamine which helps to prevent nausea and vomiting (feeling or being sick) associated with:

• travel sickness (also called motion sickness)
• dizziness and sickness caused by inner ear problems (such as vertigo, tinnitus and Ménière's disease)

How to avoid travel sickness:

• Stabilise balancing mechanism in the ear by sit with the head tilted back
• Ventilate the vehicle you are in
• Try to have a clear view of the window
• To help keep your stomach settled eat a little bit before the journey (avoid greasy food)
• When travelling by car take breaks regularly for exercise, fresh air and refreshments
• Don’t read
• Avoid strong smells (food, smoke, perfume, or petrol fumes)

How to take Stugeron tablets 

It is best to be taken after meals to stop it upsetting your stomach.

Tablets can be sucked, chewed or swallowed whole. 

Adults and children over 12 years

Two tablets to be taken 2 hours before travelling, then one tablet every 8 hours during the journey.

Children aged 5 – 12 years

One tablet to be taken 2 hours before travelling, then half a tablet every 8 hours during the journey.

Children under 5 years old

Not recommended

Possible side effects 

Common side effects you may experience include:

• drowsiness (common side effect)
• feeling sick
• indigestion
• putting on weight

Do not take Stugeron 15 within 4 days before a skin allergy test, as it may affect the results

Active ingredient: Cinnarizine 15 mg

Other ingredients: Lactose monohydrate, maize starch, sucrose, talc, magnesium stearate, povidone

Warnings

Do not take more than the recommended dose, avoid drinking alcohol. Speak to your doctor if you have liver or kidney conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding, Parkinson's disease, fructose and galactose intolerant, epilepsy, or taking medications including tranquillisers, tricyclic antidepressants or hypnotics.
