Valve Adjustable Technology (VAT)

The NB500 nebuliser is equipped with VAT technology, designed to offer a different nebuliser rate depending on the user. A high nebulisation rate is for high viscosity medications and high breathing capacity users while low flow rate with close valve will be more appropriate for kids or infants with lower breathing capacity. Thanks to the reduction of wasted medication, VAT is also recommended for respiratory disorders such as COPD and asthma as well as intensive use in general.

Asthma

Asthma becomes apparent by frequent spasmodic gasping for air and wheezing . As with chronic bronchitis, the bronchi are inflamed and obstructed with phlegm while the cilia and conglutinated. The respiratory passages also respond to certain stimuli with muscular spasms, often caused by allergens such as pollen or house dust, but also stress and environmental pollution. 

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a type of obstructive lung disease characterized by long-term poor airflow. The main symptoms include shortness of breath and cough with sputum production. COPD is aprogressive disease, meaning it typically worsens over time. Eventually everyday activities, such as walking up stairs become difficult.

Warnings

Keep away from water. Do not handle the unit of the power cord with wet hands. Do not use it whilst bathing. Do not reach for a unit that has fallen into water immediately unplug the unit. Do not use the unit if it has any damaged parts. The unit should not be used where flammable gas,oxygen or aerosol spray products are being used. Keep the air vents open. Do not place on a surface where the openings can be blocked. If the medication cup is empty, do not attempt to operate the unit. The unit should not be left unattended while plugged in. Do not tilt or shake the unit whilst in operation. Disconnect the unit from the electrical outlet before cleaning , filling and after each use. Do not use the attachments unless recommended by the manufacturer. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the unit . Do not use the device in anesthetic or ventilator breathing circuits. Close adult supervision is recommended when the unit is used by children or invalids. Keep eyes away from the output of medication mist. The maximum capacity of the medication cup is 5ml and should not be overfilled. Do not use it while operating a vehicle . If any discomfort or abnormality occurs stop using the unit immediately. Do not use it if the air tube is bent. Pentamidine is not an approved medication for use with this device. Please use general precautions when operating your nebulizer. This unit should be used for its intended purpose and with medications only under the supervision and instruction of your physician.
