Description

Imodium Plus for short-lived bouts of diarrhoea with stomach cramps, bloating and wind.

Each caplet contains loperamide hydrochloride, this helps reduce diarrhoea by slowing down an overactive bowel allowing the body to absorb more water and salt from the bowel to help prevent dehydration. The dual action of Imodium plus contains Simethicone, which relieves cramps and bloating by breaking up any trapped wind in the bowel.

How to take Imodium Plus caplets 

Adults over 18 years

Take two caplets initially, followed by one caplet after every loose stool (bowel movement). Do not take more than 4 caplets in a day.

Children and young adults 12 to 18 years

Take one caplet initially, followed by one caplet after every loose stool (bowel movement). Do not take more than 4 caplets in a day.

Children under the age of 12 years

Not recommended

If your symptoms persist after two days, stop taking the caplets and contact your doctor.

Possible side effects 

Common side-effects you may experience include:

• Feeling sick
• A change in the way some things taste

Ingredients

Active ingredients: Loperamide hydrochloride (2 mg per caplet) and Simeticone (measured as 125 mg dimeticone per caplet)

Other ingredients: Calcium hydrogen phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, acesulfame potassium, artificial vanilla flavour (includes propylene glycol, maltodextrin and benzyl alcohol), sodium starch glycolate (type A) and stearic acid.

Warnings

Do not take more than the recommended dose / May make you feel dizzy, tired or sleepy / Do not take this medicine if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to loperamide hydrochloride, simeticone or any of the other ingredients, have a high temperature (e.g. above 38�C) or blood in your stools, are having a flare up of an inflammatory bowel condition like ulcerative colitis, have severe diarrhoea after taking antibiotics, are constipated or your stomach appears swollen / Speak to your doctor if you have severe diarrhoea, have AIDS and your stomach becomes swollen, have liver disease, are pregnant or breast feeding, are taking any other medicines including: uinidine, Itraconazole or ketoconazole, Gemfibrozil, Ritonavir or Desmopressin
