Description

MULTI-ACTION Tablets are for use by adults and children aged 12 years and over. The tablets contain pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, which is a decongestant that relieves nasal and sinus congestion and triprolidine hydrochloride which is an antihistamine that helps stop sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.

How to take Actifed Multi-action tablets

Adults and children over 12 years

One tablet every 4-6 hours up to 4 times a day

Children under 12 years

Not recommended.

Avoid if you suffer from moderate to severe renal impairment, severe hepatic impairment, hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, elevated intraocular pressure and prostatic enlargement; may cause drowsiness and impair performance in tests of auditory vigilance; patients should not drive or operate machinery until they have determined their own response; avoid use of alcohol or other centrally acting sedatives; caution in patients taking anti-hypertensive agents, MAOIs, bretylium, betanidine, guanethidine, debrisoquine, methyldopa, alpha-and beta-adrenergic blocking agents, tricyclic antidepressants or other sympathomimetic agents, such as decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants.

Pregnancy and lactation

Consult doctor prior to use.

Side effects of this medication include

CNS depression or excitation; drowsiness; sleep disturbance and, rarely, hallucinations; skin rashes, with or without irritation; tachycardia; dry mouth, nose and throat; urinary retention.

Warnings

Avoid if you have Intolerance to the actives ingredients; severe hypertension or severe coronary heart disease; concomitant furazolidone; with or within two weeks of receiving MAOIs. Not for use in children under 12 years
