Sepsis, also known as blood poisoning, is the body reacting to an infection and attacking its own organs and tissues. It is a life-threatening emergency and therefore being able to spot the signs of sepsis early is critical to treatment and survival. Without timely intervention and treatment, sepsis can rapidly lead to tissue damage, organ failure and even death. 

When it comes to sepsis, it is all about TIME

• TEMPERATURE

Higher or lower than normal

• INFECTION

May have signs and symptoms of infection

• MENTAL DECLINE

Confused, sleepy or difficult to rouse

• EXTREME ILLNESS

Severe pain, discomfort, shortness of breath
