Physical and sexual violence, to psychological, coercive and controlling behaviour, domestic abuse can take many forms and can happen to anyone regardless of gender, sexuality or other factors. Browns Pharmacy have Safe Spaces available for anyone. We use a believe, respond and refer process to provide help to anyone who needs it.

Regardless of your gender, sexuality or job role, anyone can be at risk of domestic abuse. Someone suffering from domestic abuse may not feel able to leave their relationship. When they do, an increase in domestic abuse can often occur.

Domestic abuse is not limited to physical abuse. The Government definition is any incident or pattern of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 years or over who are or have been intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality. This can include psychological, physical, sexual, economic or emotional abuse.

Browns Pharmacy understand that it is difficult to reach out for help when experiencing domestic abuse, which is why we make it a priority that anyone coming forward about abuse is believed and then supported in a compassionate and non-judgemental way. We can direct anyone suffering from abuse to specialist support services.
